Gran Turismo 5 1944 Volkswagen Kubelwagen Typ82

Here is a 1944 Volkswagen Kubelwagen Typ82 in my Gran Turismo 5 pictures.

In Desert paint, it is pictured here at Siena - Piazza del Campo, one of the Photo Travel locations in Gran Turismo 5.

The Volkswagen Kübelwagen Typ82 '44 is a German off-road wartime vehicle which features in Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6.

It is a non-amphibious vehicle closely related to the Volkswagen Schwimmwagen Typ166 '42.

It appears alongside the Schwimmwagen in one of the Top Gear Test Track Special Events in Gran Turismo 5

And here is the in-game description:

"Volkswagen's military off-road vehicle, maximizing the high traction of the RR layout."

The unfortunate history of World War II did produce some benefits in terms of technology. In America the Jeep was born, and in Germany was the Kübelwagen. Soldiers who were forced to march long distances with heavy equipment before now had a different role, with the appearance of off-road vehicles that allowed travel on roadless paths.
The request made to Dr. Porsche was to create a 3-passenger car based on the "Volkswagen" (the people's car) that can drive on rough terrain. The weight had to be less than 550 kg, to enable transport on aircraft and boats.
The official order was given in January of 1939 by the German Army and a prototype was completed within the year. It is said that Dr. Porsche might have already had ideas for an off-road vehicle as a part of the people's car concept, which made this quick development possible. The rear engine, rear drive Volkswagen mechanism was simple and lightweight with good traction and a body structure that was easy and cheap to mass produce: it encapsulated all the advantages of Volkswagen.
The air-cooled engine obviously had no problems such as coolant leaks and was extremely reliable. With its proven durability, the advantage of the Volkswagen was clear, and its fame grew even after the war. The Kübelwagen was active not only in northern areas such as Poland and Russia, but even down on the African front.

Tesla Roadster 2008

A certain Tesla Roadster is in the news right now... so here are some quick pictures of a 2008 Tesla Roadster found in Gran Turismo 5.

And this is it - an instance of the 2008 Tesla Motors Tesla Roadster.

Here the car is at San Gimignano - Town Square.

The in-game description goes on like this {no mention of anybody called Elon's Musk}:

"The EV sportscar born in Silicon Valley, the centre of information technology."

Established in California's Silicon Valley in 2003, Tesla Motors announced a car in 2006 that dropped the jaws of many automakers in the world who were still struggling to produce an electric vehicle. This was the announcement of the 4-seater EV sportscar with a midship layout, the Tesla Roadster.
A CFRP body was matched to an aluminum bathtub chassis based on the Lotus Elise. It also shared other components with the Elise, and is assembled at the Lotus Factory in the UK, so it's no wonder that their styling and package is similar. However, this car is powered by lithium-ion batteries and a three-phase AC motor.
Delivery began in 2008, and the initial commercial model produced a maximum output of 245 HP, and 198.9 ft-lb of torque. 0-60 mph is 3.7 seconds. The top speed is limited for safety, but still reaches 125 mph. Obviously its performance is in no way inferior to a gas-powered car, it even has a driving range of 244.2 miles per charge, which was another surprise to many.
The performance of the sports model released in the beginning of 2009 was raised to 284 HP/295.1 ft-lb. This roadster had been the focus of attention long before its release, and even though the price tag was high at $98,000, orders were placed for well over 600 cars immediately. Its final release was slightly delayed, but the initial sales were good and delivery started in Europe beginning in 2009.

The color is Radiant Red.

And now it is at Siena - Piazza del Campo.

GT5 1967 Lamborghini Miura P400 Bertone

Another post on the GT5 Lamborghini Miura P400 Bertone Prototype CN.0706.

But this time it is actually in my garage, and cost me Cr. 15,000,000 too! So more closeups this time.

Parked now at San Gimignano - Town Square.

However, my major complaint is the thing the GT camera does to orange - turning it into cheap yellow in the sun.

"Eyelashes".

The Miura is the "world's first genuine supercar".

GT5 1990 Nissan Silvia K's Dia Selection (S13)

Today's car is this 1990 Nissan Silvia K's Dia Selection (S13) in my GT5 pictures, with no post-PS editing.

Wearing a coat of Lime Green Two-Tone and parked at Siena - Piazza del Campo again.

This K's version is a high performance version of the Nissan Silvia S13 coupe which was the fifth-generation model of the Silvia specialty coupe from Nissan.

The S13 won the Japan Car of the Year award for 1988.

Now just enjoy the pictures however imperfect they may be.

Love this car.
